TRAIL Program

Lessons

What do lessons look like?

Each rider/student is treated as an individual.  Their abilities and needs are carefully assessed. It is then possible to work on specific areas according the student’s needs.

Lesson plans are different based on needs. For instance, students with cerebral palsy may work on balance; those with autism may work on eye-to-eye contact and mental engagement. Those who are physically unable or afraid may work on groundwork – receiving sensory input and building a rapport with their horse.

Our horses are chosen for their gentleness and patience.

Lessons are scheduled for an hour. Unlike other programs, TRAIL students ride year-round to support the need for consistency and structure. Each student receives one-on-one instruction.

TRAIL is now accepting new students.
